./forge --start

Your story, heated.
Your record, defensible.

Looking for a free resume builder for felons? This is it. Bring your resume, a phone pic of a paper one, or nothing at all. Tell it the real story. Walk out with a resume, a cover letter and a career report. Free with an account.
Create a free account to keep your work. Public resume checks are available before sign-in.

Real Forge screens taped to a dark wall: the resume editor with a live preview of the finished resume, a disclosure plan listing pivot points, and a finished resume line with a list showing where every word came from.

t.ROY is on every Forge screen.

It knows which screen you are on and answers questions as you go. Inside the Forge, before you have an account, it remembers nothing between visits. It helps you tell your story straight. It does not write a fictional version for you. The Ask t.ROY chat on this website is a separate system with its own rules. Meet t.ROY.

01 / the path

The path through the Forge

You bring a resume or build one. Then you answer questions about your goals, what is in your way, and how ready you feel. Got a felony? Name it here, in your own words. The career report gives you starting points for it, and every line of your resume with a felony behind it still traces back to what you said.
Sign in. Start where you are.

Where You Are

The Forge starts by asking how ready you feel. There is no wrong answer.
Bring what you have. Or nothing.

Your Resume

Bring a PDF, a Word file, a phone photo of a paper resume, or plain text. If we cannot read it, we say so and offer the guided builder instead. No resume? Build one here. The bullet workshop turns plain facts about a job into one strong, true line, and it will not invent a number you did not give it.
Where you want to go.

Your Goals

What you want from work. You do not need a job title in mind to answer.
What is in your way, in your own words.

Your Story

A record, a gap in employment, recovery, housing, transportation: name what applies, in your own words. On browsers that support it, you can speak your answers instead of typing.
The practical side.

How You Want To Work

The schedule and the kind of work that fit your life right now.
Yours to keep.

Your Documents

A career report, a resume and a cover letter. Your account keeps the documents ready when you come back.
02 / what you leave with

Real documents, checked against your own words

Three documents, and the checks that come with them. All of it in your account.

A CAREER REPORT

A plain-language career report: your strengths with the evidence for each, your skills, career paths that fit, and starting points for the barriers you named. It is never a score or a grade. Organizations and legal notes in the report are AI-generated starting points to confirm, not a verified directory or legal advice.

A RESUME AND A COVER LETTER

The Forge also writes a resume and a cover letter from what you told it. Download both as Word files, or save them as PDF.

A TRUTH CHECK THAT SHOWS ITS WORK

Every Forge document is checked line by line against what you told us, by a second model. If a detail could not be traced to your own words it is removed. That includes claims about your character, like attendance or reliability, that you never made about yourself. The page tells you how many details were removed, how many need your review, and whether the check could not run. The rule is nothing invented, a second check enforces it, and you review every line.

THE QUESTIONS ONLY YOU CAN ANSWER

Before you send it, the Forge lists what only you can answer: an open end date, a certification that may have lapsed, a line that could say more.

AN HONEST SCORECARD

We show how your resume reads across five categories and how to improve each. We do not pretend there is one ATS score, because there is not.

A PAGE-LENGTH ESTIMATE

We estimate how your resume will paginate in Word and tell you if it runs to a page and a third. It is an estimate, and we say so.

A REPORT YOU CAN HAND TO SOMEONE

The report you download leaves out the private note about your journey. Barriers, legal context and resources stay in, because that is what the report is for.

RUSH MODE

In a hurry? Paste your resume and the job. The rewrite uses only facts from your resume.
03 / privacy, plainly

What we keep and what we do not

A free tool still has to be honest about data. Here is exactly what happens to yours.

WHAT WE KEEP WITHOUT AN ACCOUNT

Without an account, we keep none of your words. We keep a one-way fingerprint of each AI request for audit, counts of what was produced, token usage, and your IP address with a daily usage count so the free tool cannot be abused.

WHAT STAYS ON THE DEVICE

Until you sign up, your answers live in this browser so you can pick up where you left off. On a shared computer, start over from the first screen when you finish, which clears them.

WHERE YOUR WORDS GO

To do this work, your resume and answers are sent to our AI providers (Anthropic, with OpenAI as backup and for the truth check).

WHAT WE COUNT

We count page visits, and send three events to Google Analytics: Forge started, Forge finished, account created. Nothing you type is sent to analytics. No ads. We do not sell your data.

How it connects

The documents are not the finish line. They become the working material for the Refinery, the second part of one system.
1

Create an Account

Start free. Your account keeps the work together when you come back.

2

The Forge

Build your resume, cover letter and career report from your real history. Keep the same work as you move into Refinery.

3

The Refinery

The Refinery starts from what the Forge already knows. Tools unlock in order: your profile, then a first resume, then everything. A locked tool shows a labelled sample, never a dead end.
